The 5th National Conference on Communications (NCC)

The 5th National Conference on Communications (NCC) will be held in Kampala, Uganda, from 10th – 11th October 2019.

The NCC provides an opportunity to build capacity and strengthen the academia and industry communities in communications particularly in the research of locally relevant solutions. The NCC provides students, researchers, developers, and practitioners with a platform to address new research challenges, share solutions and discuss issues relevant to the communications sector of Uganda. The NCC will also host keynote and invited speakers to share their views on communications from regulation, social-economic, political and gender perspectives.

The NCC National conference will also  give industry players an opportunity to share their experiences, challenges and adoption of latest technologies to solve these challenges under the NCC 2019 Industry Track  with the use use of technology in various sectors for example business, engineering, agriculture, public sector, health, etc and different application areas business intelligence, smart cities, transport, etc.

The industry track will aim to facilitate and enhance discussions between industry players and academicians on the best way to create synergies to solve local problems providing their success stories, experiences and challeges and how they managed to overcome them with focus on communications technology.

Supervisor Research Seminar

A group of selected PhDs and graduate Students attend the supervisor research seminar at Makerere University, College of Computing and IS, facilitated by DR. Drake.P.Mirembe as a new strategy to ensure that research is completed on time and undergoes proper supervision before Publications as preliminary activities for the new regional center of engaged scholarship.

The research seminar is a fundamental part of scholarly activity for a first-rank research. By bringing together scholars working in closely allied fields and providing a formal structure of their interaction, it furthers the scholar’s research goals of each participant. As importantly, this research seminar aims to create professional seriousness within scholars, by encouraging scholarly interaction above and beyond the requisite classroom and departmental service with growing scholarly strength in many humanities program, this model of professionalism is particularly important since it offers a forum for exchanging with new ideas and the promotion of new research and with debate among the research community, by the end of this program scholars should have profited from this research seminars in their top-tier graduate programs as professionalize graduate students and convey  inherent seriousness of scholarly endeavor.
